Maiton Island

Maiton is one of the private-owned Islands in Phuket. Unlike all the other well-known tropical islands around Phuket, Maiton-also known as Honeymoon Island-is only 9 kilometers (29,527.6 feet) off the southeastern coast of Phuket.T here is a limitation in accessing this Island, which means you have to make arrangements to get there. 

It is the largest private Island located away in Andaman Sea’s crystal blue waters, complete with a soft-sand beach full of beautiful washed-up corals and shells of the sea, and lush green natural forest. 

There is not much to do on this small island, but it feels like a total escape from busy Phuket. Swim, relax, explore a bit, eat and drink, go snorkelling, and enjoy the peace in a lounger under the trees; the day feels perfect.

Best time to visit

 During December-May, the sea around Koh Maiton is crystal clear like a blue mirror. There is a coral reef near the beach full of sea flowers, while dolphins can be spotted roaming around often.

How to get there

There are two ways to get to Maiton: Speedboat & catamaran. Tourists with a short traveling time, choose speedboat to save their time, but people who are not in a hurry prefer catamaran.

Not many companies tour operators sell day trips to this beautiful Island because its cost is slightly higher compared to other excursions on the islands closest to the coast. Still, without a doubt, the overcharge will be rewarded with one of Phuket’s most beautiful hikes. 

The tours usually includes transferring from your hotel by minivan, a round trip by speedboat from Chalong Pier, fresh fruit, soft drinks, and snacks onboard, free beach deckchair, lunch buffet, snorkeling equipment, tour guide, and insurance services. Tour prices range from 2.300 to 2.800 THB depending on the company selected and the possible options.
