The Ijen volcano complex is a group of active, composite volcanoes located in East Java, Indonesia. It is known for its blue fire, acidic crater lake, and labour-intensive sulfur mining.

How to get to Mount Ijen:

It's fairly easy to visit Mount Ijen coming from Bali. The best option is to book one of our tour package's to make your trip run smoother. They will pick you up from your hotel and organize everything. The drive will take around 6 to 9 hours, depending on your exact location in Bali. A ferry ride later, you'll arrive at Mount Ijen.

From the starting point of the hike, it takes around 1 hour to reach base camp. From there, it takes another  +/- 2 hours to reach the peak.

The hike itself isn't the hardest, but keep in mind it can get quite steep. When you reach the top, your guides will probably instruct you to put on your gas mask, to protect you from the sulfuric gas.

Best time to visit Mount Ijen:
